Blake Lively Seeks Revenge (or Does She?) in Explosive Another Simple Favor Trailer

Revenge is best served with a twist.

The first teaser for Another Simple Favor, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 thriller A Simple Favor, has arrived—bringing back Blake Lively’s enigmatic Emily and Anna Kendrick’s unsuspecting Stephanie for another stylishly sinister mystery.

The trailer opens with Stephanie, now a mommy vlogger-turned-private investigator, promoting her book The Faceless Blonde—presumably chronicling the wild events of the first film. But her moment in the spotlight is interrupted by a shocking arrival: Emily, fresh out of jail.

A Wedding Invitation… or a Trap?

Stephanie is left reeling when Emily, casually dismissing any notion of a prison break, leans into the microphone and invites her to be her maid of honor.

Despite her reservations, Stephanie finds herself swept into Emily’s opulent world once again—this time, on a private jet and a sleek speedboat ride to the stunning island of Capri, where Emily is set to wed. But as the trip unfolds, so do Stephanie’s suspicions.

“Do you think I invited you to get revenge for stealing my life and taking my kid away from me?” Emily asks, her words dripping with intrigue.

Glamour, Suspense, and a Deadly Twist

The teaser gives us glimpses of Emily’s extravagant wedding, from breathtaking floral archways on a cliffside to a wedding gown with a blood-red hemline that looks almost too real. The luxurious atmosphere is shattered by flashes of chaos—a body being carried out of a hotel, a woman’s terrified scream, and an explosion rocking the picturesque setting.

Director Paul Feig describes the film as “Suburban Noir,” a mystery unfolding in broad daylight. “Anyone can make a dark and scary movie,” Feig told Entertainment Weekly. “But if it’s in the most beautiful, sunny setting, where you think, ‘Nothing bad could ever happen here’—that’s when it gets really fun. And in Another Simple Favor, a lot of bad things happen.”

When Can You Watch?

The suspenseful sequel debuts exclusively on Prime Video on May 1. Watch the teaser above—if you dare.
